How Unblockd handles your data.
Your projects hold sponsor decisions, work in progress, and the evidence behind them. Here’s how they’re kept, who can see them, and how you take them with you.
How your data is protected
Everything your team puts in Unblockd is kept private and encrypted.
- Encrypted in transit and at rest
- Everything you put in Unblockd is encrypted on its way to us and while it’s stored. Keys from the tools you connect get a second layer of encryption and never leave in an export.
- Private files
- Files you attach as proof are stored privately. Unblockd hands one over only after checking that the person asking is allowed to see it.
Who sees what
Each team works in its own workspace, and your sponsor sees only what you share.
- One workspace per team
- Every team’s projects live in a workspace of their own. Nobody outside it can read or change them, and automated tests check it.
- Your sponsor sees what you share
- Your sponsor, the executive or client backing the project, sees what your team shares. Tasks, blockers, risks, and team notes stay with your team until someone chooses to share them, and proof files open only when their deliverable is shared.
- Admins hold the keys
- Connecting tools, changing billing, exporting, and deleting the workspace are reserved for workspace admins.
Signing in
Each teammate signs in with their own account. Ask us when you need stricter sign-in.
- Multi-factor sign-in
- Multi-factor sign-in is available; we can require it for your workspace on request.
- Single sign-on
- Single sign-on (SAML/OIDC) is available on the Business plan. We set it up with your admin for Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Google, or another provider, along with directory sync.
Sponsor links
Sponsors answer from a private link, without making an account.
- Private and short-lived
- Each link belongs to one person and one project, and stops opening after 14 days. A fresh one arrives with each email.
- Access ends when you say
- Remove someone from a project and their links stop working straight away.
Connected tools and AI
Unblockd reads the tools your team already uses. It doesn’t change them.
- Read-only connections
- Unblockd asks each tool for the narrowest read access it offers and never edits your work there. The only thing it sets up is the notice that tells it something changed.
- Disconnect anytime
- Disconnect a tool from Settings and Unblockd deletes its keys. Where the tool allows it, Unblockd also asks it to revoke access.
- AI assistants act as you
- An assistant you connect signs in as you. Every change it makes shows in the project’s history under your name, marked as made through the assistant.
- A person sends it
- When an assistant drafts something for your sponsor, it waits until a person on your team reviews it and sends it.
Your data, your call
Admins can take everything with them, or remove it for good.
- Export everything
- Download the whole workspace as JSON, or its full history as a spreadsheet, from Settings at any time.
- Retention you choose
- Choose how long archived projects are kept: keep forever, 90 days, 1 year, or 2 years. Settings shows how many would go before you change it.
- Delete for good
- Deleting the workspace cancels billing and removes its projects, history, and stored files.
If something goes wrong
If a breach ever touches your data, we tell you directly.
- Told within 72 hours
- If we confirm a breach of your data, we email your workspace admins within 72 hours: what happened, what data it touched, and what we’re doing about it.
- Fixed at the cause
- We contain it first, then fix what let it happen, and tell you what we changed.
