- What is an MCP server for project management?
- MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI assistants use to connect to other software. Unblockd’s MCP server at https://unblockd.ai/mcp gives your assistant tools to read the plan, update tasks, attach proof, flag blockers, and prepare sponsor asks, signed in as you.
- Which AI assistants work with Unblockd?
- Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor each have their own setup steps. Any other app that can add a remote MCP server with OAuth sign-in can connect too.
- Can an assistant message my sponsor?
- No. Asks and replies an assistant prepares wait for someone on your team to send them. Only automations an admin turned on, such as the daily update or the weekly digest, go out without a tap. An assistant can hold today’s update, and it can turn a project’s weekly digest on, but that digest sends by itself only if an admin turned on automatic digests.
- Is AI included in every plan?
- Built-in AI is part of the Team and Business plans. Connecting your own assistant works on every plan, Free included, and runs on your own AI account.
- Is my project data used to train AI?
- We don’t use project content to train AI models. Built-in AI uses one AI provider, named in our privacy policy, whose API doesn’t train on that text. What a connected assistant reads goes to its own provider, under your terms with them.
- How do I see what an assistant changed?
- Open the project’s History and filter to Assistants. Each change shows the person and the assistant, like “Maya via Claude”.
- Can AI write my project status updates?
- Yes. Your assistant can draft this week’s sponsor update, and built-in AI writes the opening note of today’s update. A person approves and sends it, unless an admin turned on automatic sending.
