Connect your AI assistant

Plan, update, and unblock projects from the assistant you already use. It signs in as you, works only in your workspaces, and every change shows in the project’s history.

Updated

How it works

Unblockd has an MCP server at https://unblockd.ai/mcp. Your assistant connects to it with OAuth: you sign in to Unblockd in your own browser, and the assistant acts as you, in the workspaces you belong to. Every change it makes is recorded in the project’s history as yours, via your assistant. Your sponsor only ever sees what your team has shared.

In Unblockd, Your AI in the top bar has the same steps, with a copy button for each command.

For what an assistant can and can’t do, and how it compares with built-in AI, see Work with AI in Unblockd.

The short version

  1. Add the Unblockd MCP serverIn your assistant’s settings, add a remote MCP server (some apps call it a connector) with the URL https://unblockd.ai/mcp.
  2. Sign inWhen the assistant asks, sign in to Unblockd in your own browser. Never paste a password or code into a chat.
  3. Try itAsk it what needs your attention today. A working connection answers from your projects, and asking changes nothing.

Claude

  1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector.
  2. Paste this URL, name it Unblockd, then connect and sign in.https://unblockd.ai/mcp

ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings, then Apps & Connectors, and create a connector. If Create isn’t there, turn on Developer mode under Advanced.
  2. Paste this URL, choose OAuth, then connect and sign in.https://unblockd.ai/mcp

Claude Code

  1. Add Unblockd in your terminal.claude mcp add --transport http unblockd https://unblockd.ai/mcp
  2. Then run this inside Claude Code, choose unblockd, and sign in./mcp

Codex

  1. Run this in your terminal. It adds Unblockd, then opens your browser to sign in.codex mcp add unblockd --url https://unblockd.ai/mcp && codex mcp login unblockd

Cursor

  1. Open Unblockd in Cursor, approve the install, then sign in when Cursor asks.
  2. Or add it by hand in Cursor Settings, under MCP, with this URL.https://unblockd.ai/mcp

Any other assistant

  1. In your assistant’s settings, add a remote MCP server. Some apps call it a connector, an integration, or a tool.
  2. Paste this URL, name it Unblockd, and choose OAuth if it asks how to sign in. Then sign in to Unblockd.https://unblockd.ai/mcp
  3. If the app uses a config file instead, add this. Some apps name the keys differently.{"mcpServers":{"unblockd":{"url":"https://unblockd.ai/mcp"}}}

Check it works, and disconnect

Ask “What needs my attention today?” or “Give me today’s summary for each project.” A working connection answers from your projects. If the tools are missing, check the server is turned on for that conversation, then reconnect.

To disconnect, remove Unblockd from your assistant’s connector settings. The full reference for assistants is at setup.md, and how they work day to day is at skill.md.

Connect your assistant now

Your AI in Unblockd has the same steps, with a copy button for each command and the assistants already connected.
