Five steps to your first answer
- Sign up and create a workspaceGo to Start free and sign up with your work account. Then create a workspace: it holds your team, projects, and connected tools.
- Create a projectUnder Projects, press New project. Under Start from, pick a template, Blank, Paste a plan, or a Microsoft Project file. Give it a Project name, a Purpose, a Task prefix (it starts every task ID, like SUP-12), and a Target date.
- Add who you’re waiting onUnder Who you’re waiting on, add the main contact’s Name and Email: the sponsor who answers decisions and clears blockers. They don’t need an account. The project calls them Sponsor unless you pick Client, Exec, Owner, or your own word. Press Add another person for anyone else on their side, as an approver or a viewer. Then press Create project.
- Send your first askUnblockd asks what you’re waiting on them for. Pick A decision, Access, A sign-off, or Information, and write it in one line. For a decision, write two or three options and mark the one you recommend. Choose What it holds up, add a Needed by date if there is one, and press Send.
- Get your first answerThey get an email with one button per answer. You hear the moment they answer, and every open ask is under Asks. If they don’t answer, Unblockd reminds them after 3 days and before the deadline.
What to do next
- Add outcomes, then the deliverables that serve them: your sponsor’s page tracks each deliverable, and one is accepted once its evidence is attached. Break a deliverable into activities when it has several streams of work.
- Invite your team from Settings, then Members. Admins invite people and manage tools and the plan; members work on projects, asks, and tasks.
- Connect the tool your team already plans in, so tasks follow it. See Connect a tool below.
- Connect your own AI assistant to plan, update, and prepare asks from where you already work. See Connect your AI assistant.
The setup guide in the top bar tracks these steps for you and marks each one done as it happens.
Connect a tool
Unblockd reads 31 tools. Each has its own guide in the menu, with what it reads, how status maps, and how to disconnect. Start with Jira, Asana, monday.com, or GitHub.
Don’t see yours? Press Request a tool beside the search in Settings, then Connected tools: pick it from the list or type its name, and add what you’d use it for if you like. Anyone on the team can ask, from ⌘K, a project’s Sources tab, or your AI assistant too. Signed out, use the form on Integrations. We read every request, and we’ll email you if we add yours. A tool marked Available on request is built and waiting on its maker’s approval: press Request this connector on its row.
