Stakeholder approvals, answered in one tap.

For any team whose work waits on a sponsor’s yes: an executive backing an internal program, an IT rollout’s business owner, or a client. Each approval goes out as one question with the options written out and your recommendation marked, and the sponsor answers from the email or a private page without an account.
Illustration: a sponsor answers an ask from their phone. The project is fictional.

Why sponsor approvals stall

Most approvals stall at the question itself. It arrives as the fourth paragraph of a long email, with three attachments and no date, so answering means reading everything first. The sponsor puts it off until they have time, and that time rarely comes before your deadline.

Meanwhile the team re-sends, re-explains, and quietly re-plans around a date nobody agreed to. The sponsor feels chased, the team feels blocked, and the cost of the wait never gets written down.

How Unblockd handles it

The ask carries everything the sponsor needs to decide, and the answer comes straight back to the work it frees up.
  1. Ask one questionTurn the blocker into an ask: the question, two or three options, the one you recommend, the day you need it, and what waiting costs. On Team, built-in AI can draft the wording and the cost of waiting for you to edit.
  2. They answer where they already areThe email carries the options, so your sponsor can answer from the inbox, reply to the email, or open a private page on their phone. Each link belongs to one person and one project and stops opening after 14 days; every email brings a fresh one.
  3. Follow-ups go out for youIf an ask waits 3 days, a reminder goes out, and another the day before the deadline, up to 3 in all. After that you nudge, extend the deadline, or escalate to someone else in one tap.
  4. The answer lands on the workThe answer comes back to the blocker with who chose which option and when, recorded in the project’s history. You mark it unblocked and the team carries on.

Where it fits

A good fit

  • Decisions that aren’t a file: a vendor, a scope change, a launch date, access to a system.
  • PMOs, agencies, and program leads running several projects at once, where waiting on approvals is what moves the dates.

Use something else for

  • Pixel-level markup on designs or video frames. A proofing tool handles that well; keep it, and use Unblockd for the decisions around it.
  • Contracts that need a legal signature. Use your e-signature tool and attach the signed file as proof.

Questions

Does my sponsor need an account?
No. They answer from the email or from a private link that opens their page. Sponsors, approvers, and viewers are free on every plan.
What if none of the options fit?
Your sponsor can add a note to their answer or ask a question from their page. Both come back to your team, next to the ask.
Can more than one person approve?
Yes. Add approvers to the project. An ask can go to one named person or to everyone who can answer; viewers can follow along but can’t answer asks.
Is the answer a legal signature?
No. Unblockd records who chose which option and when. For a contract, use your e-signature tool and attach the signed file to the deliverable as proof.
