Deliverable sign-off with the proof attached.

In Unblockd a deliverable is accepted only once evidence is attached to it: the signed-off document, the demo, the launch note. Your sponsor sees what was accepted and opens the proof behind it.
A specimen of the sponsor’s page after a deliverable is accepted. The project is fictional.

Why sign-off gets disputed

Sign-off usually happens in an email thread: “looks good, go ahead.” Three months later someone asks what exactly was approved, which version, and by whom, and the answer is spread across four inboxes.

Meanwhile “done” on the task board meant whatever each person decided it meant that day.

How Unblockd handles it

Proof is part of finishing, and acceptance is recorded where the work lives.
  1. Done needs proofA task can only be marked done with evidence attached: a document, file, link, pull request, test result, or decision note. Mark a task as needing sign-off and it also needs a sign-off recorded by a person on your team.
  2. Ask for the decision in writingSend an ask with the options spelled out, for example approve as is, approve with the listed changes, or not yet. The answer is recorded with who chose and when.
  3. Accept the deliverable with its evidenceA deliverable can be accepted only once evidence is attached to it. When a person on your team accepts it, the sponsor gets an email, and their page lists it under accepted, with the proof.
  4. The sponsor’s word, in their wordsThe main contact or an approver can say the work looks good, or ask a question, from their page. Viewers can ask questions.
  5. A record you can take with youEvery change is in the project’s history. Admins can export the whole workspace as JSON, or its history as a spreadsheet, at any time.

Where it fits

A good fit

  • Milestone-based work, where acceptance starts the next phase or, for client work, an invoice.
  • Internal rollouts where an executive has to confirm a deliverable is fit to launch.

Use something else for

  • Legally binding signatures. Unblockd records decisions and evidence; for a contract, use your e-signature tool and attach the signed file.

Questions

Can the sponsor sign off directly?
Your sponsor answers the ask or says the work looks good on their page, and both are recorded with their name and the time. Accepting the deliverable is your team’s step, once its evidence is attached.
Can an AI assistant mark work as signed off?
No. A sign-off has to be recorded by a person. An assistant can attach evidence, and can accept a deliverable that already has evidence, but only a person’s acceptance emails the sponsor.
What counts as proof?
A link, or a file up to 25 MB: PDF, image, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text, CSV, or zip. Connected tools add their own, like a merged pull request or a Confluence page.
Can we see later who approved what?
Yes. The project’s history shows each answer, sign-off, and acceptance with who did it and when, and admins can export it.
